The Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, a collection of championship caliber courses designed by The Open Doctor himself, serves as the backdrop of National Village. Residents enjoy access to Auburn-Opelika Marriott at Grand National, the centerpiece of the community.
Grand National offers an unparalleled outdoor golf community living experience. The National Village 700-acre golf community affords expansive green spaces and wooded nature trails. POA members receive special privileges. Placid 600-acre Saugahatchee Lake is a natural centerpiece around the community. Smaller stocked lakes abound for the fisherman in search of the freshwater catch of the day, and championship golf at the three courses of Grand National are just a cart’s drive from your doorstep.
Upon first seeing the land where Grand National now lies, renowned course designer Robert Trent Jones, Sr., declared it the “single greatest site for a golf complex that he had ever seen.” Thirty-two of the 54-holes hug the shores of Saugahatchee Lake. Three courses are featured here: the Links Course, the Lake Course, and the Short Course. Grand National has been the site of Nike, LPGA, and NCAA golf tournaments. Homeowners at National Village enjoy the privilege of playing the Short Course free and also receive discounts on fees for the Links and Lake courses.
Grand National is one of 11 golf complexes along Alabama’s Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail. Homeowners at National Village receive complimentary play on the outstanding short course, all the range balls they can hit, and “RTJ Trail Cards” providing discounts for playing at all of the courses.
World-class golf along the renowned Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail is just one of the reasons our local community was named “#1 Golf City in America,” by Golf Digest and why HGTV featured us in their “You Should Live Here” series.
The Auburn-Opelika Marriott at Grand National is the centerpiece of social life for this golf community, and home owners enjoy privileges afforded by membership in the Property Owner’s Association. With beautifully appointed guest rooms, the Marriott can be considered your overflow guest space when you’re entertaining large parties (blackout dates apply). You’ll find an exceptional dining experience according to the Alabama Hospitality Association. For more casual fare, try the Fairway Sports Bar. Enjoy swimming in the pools, working out in the fitness room, and exploring the landscaped nature trails. Expansive conference facilities are also available for business meetings or weddings.
The tropical pool complex will make living at National Village seem like you’re on vacation every day. The 4,200 square foot tropical paradise features three pools, a Splash bar, whirlpools, waterfalls, and fire pits. When the weather turns cooler you can retreat to the heated indoor pool with whirlpool.
Exciting tennis facilities and pickle ball courts.
As Opelika residents you have access to the 600-acre Saugahatchee Lake for boating and fishing. There is also fishing and boating on four smaller community stocked lakes.
With almost 300-acres of green space, wooded nature trails beckon you to explore the great outdoors. Trails extend from the entrance at Grand National Parkway, through woods and around lakes to the Marriott and golf facilities.
POA dues include lawn maintenance for common areas & entrances, as well as private homes.
