Lee County Home Sales Up 7% in March

April 25th, 2012

According to the Alabama Center for Real Estate (ACRE), sales were up across Lee County over 7% in March when compared to March 2011.  This is exciting news as it marks the 9th consecutive month that home sales in Lee County have improved year over year.

Lee County outpaced both the national rate (5.2%) as well as the Southern region rate (3.6%) in March. The county actually saw a staggering 90% increase in sales from February, which is typically one of the slowest months of the year for Lee county home sales.

Simple supply and demand fueled the county's growth. Inventory throughout the county was down 16% since last year, with sales of existing homes accounting for about 46% of the county's total sales last month.

According to ACRE, Lee County's sales are up 13% YTD from last year.
